Me siento valorado en mi país y no podía serlo para mi último Anglo ... podría yo quemada por bruja mí (risas), pero la gente entendía mestizaje y mi historia ", dijo Lila Downs en una larga charla con los amigos.
No es la clásica rueda de prensa para hablar de un disco; Lila Downs pide una cerveza mientras su esposo Paul Cohen ofreció un tequila.
El camarero se va, pero para la cantante que: "Yo quiero un tequila" y comenzar una conversación sobre México de largo, su amor por la música, la política y el éxito.

El disco funcionó tan bien que se tarda más de 60 mil copias vendidas y su sello Sony Music acaba de lanzar una edición de lujo y es uno de los principales artistas del sello transnacional.
La cantante no oculta su simpatía por la izquierda, pero acepta que no votaron y advierte del regreso del PRI. "Los que han experimentado el sabor del PRI, no han vivido 20 años joven. ¿Qué depara el futuro? ¿Hay represión?".
Así Downs soporta todos los movimientos juveniles y cualquier causa para ayudar a los más vulnerables, pero deja claro que la izquierda pasa por malos momentos.
Hace hincapié en no estar de acuerdo con lo que está sucediendo en el país. "Espero que todo este horror para la lucha contra el narcotráfico pasará pronto"
Sobre su futuro musical, Lila Downs aceptado que tiene que ver con la situación de los migrantes en los Estados Unidos.
El plan prevé que los duetos con la cantante Natalia Lafourcade y Aida Cuevas, pero por ahora no hay nada claro, salvo que se realice un documental sobre Chavela Vargas, quien declaró su sucesor. Proyecto en el famoso musical de Broadway basado en la novela Como agua para chocolate de Laura Esquivel, dijo que ahora se encuentra bajo custodia.

El 03 de febrero 2015 se filtró el tema "Humito Copal" que horas después fue retirado de la red, a principios de marzo 2015 se filtraron temas "Patria madrina" y "Puntos negros y chocolate".
